You Know You Are in Trouble When You Piss Lockergnome Off March 6, 2007

I thought I was capable of going on a rant or two here on this blog.  I am a rank ameteur compared to the sheer outrage that came to me in my daily lockergnome feed a few days ago.

First some background.  Most of us like to get one or two or more daily email newsletters or web site updates to give us something to get our day started.  For me I have a subscription to a comics site that has replaced the daily funnies from the newspaper for me.  If I don’t sink my teeth into Get Fuzzy and Pearls Before Swine every morning, then my morning will not go well at all.  But another one of my favorites is the very popular newsletter from Lockergnome.  Lockergnome has dozens of variations of newsletters and I have subscribed to just about all of them at one time or another.  But it was the feed that I got over the weekend that went ballistic over the RIAA outrage that really got my attention.

I had mentioned a few days ago my own reactions to RIAA’s decision to attack the music loving population rather than try to serve them.  I see now that my reaction was mild but in step with others who saw what these goons are trying to do.  And so Lockergnome does its part to let us know, if you were not already aware of it, that March is Boycott RIAA Month.  Although I am not the only one who thinks that this kind of reaction is not just a one month effort but one we should extend indefinitely.  My feeling is, I am a music fan, RIAA is attacking music fans while turning around and expecting us to partronize them.  That is not a working formula for customer service.  Ipso Facto – RIAA is out.  But you look at these links and decide for yourself where you come down on participating in a coordinated action to make a statement about this kind of bullying.

Thanks for reading. Yeah, I tend to get in a huff over these things… heh

I have a few more rants on the RIAA over at my personal blog (lumpyscorner.com)
